Ryobi RGS-1240 Garden Shredder - stay very far away from this product

This product does not perform like one would expect from a garden shredder. It does not handle green garden material at all and nowhere in the product specification or the packaging does it say as much. The garden material must be bone dry and fed in very small quantities. Don't even bother with feeding stick. The moment you need the feeding stick you have added too much material. The shredded material do not fall through to the bin if it is not bone dry and small quantities. You are better off using the sucking function of a garden blower.

I took the shredder back to Builders Warehouse after 15 days (trying it on 3 Saturdays with different material ranging from new yuka shoots to maple leaves). They would not refund or replace for something else but offered to send it to Ryobi. I wrote a long letter with photos showing the performance of each material and how the material clogs up around the blade and don't fall through to the bin. I got the machine back from Stevenson saying there is nothing wrong with it.

It is clear Stevenson's staff don't use these products at home and have no engineering qualification to assess a product based on client descriptions of the problems. They work from a ticksheet jobcard framework and cannot think outside their learned repertoire. This gross display of organisational incompetence is really just sad. As is throwing R2600 in toilet.

I guess this DIY Dive just purchased her last Ryobi product.
