Ryobi petrol tank

I went to Ryobi to buy a petrol tank for my Ryobi rpt 3000 machine, they sell you a tank without a cap, asked how that is possible, it is like buying a bottle of water with no cap on the bottle, then they say it doesn't come with a cap,
