DON'T BUY ANY RYOBI PRODUCT EVER!
RYOBI is a zero star product. Never ever buy any Ryobi products, since the consumers act came out Ryobi will keep fixing your product till the warranty expires just to be in legal standing for selling you a product that will only last for a maximum of 10 uses. It takes 6 weeks minimum for repair obviously to stretch the time on the warranty.
I bought a Ryobi Grinder on the 28th March 2020 at builders the day before lockdown. 2 days into lockdown the handel dislodged and started shocking any person who used it. 2 months later I could take it in for repairs as Covid lockdown regulations did not allow for Builders warehouse to be open.
I got the grinder back in Aug 2020. I then sanded paint off on a door for it to close properly. The Ryobi grinder managed to work for exactly 5min and stopped. I then had to drive to builders again and give it in to get repair. It took another 5 weeks for the grinder to get repaired.
I fetch the grinder in September 2020. At that point I had no use for it, a few weeks later I needed to grind rebar and guess what the grinder simply switch on and then off. So again I drive to builders for repairs, this time I get phoned to say I have to pay R360 for the repair because its out of warranty.
In short I paid R400+ for a grinder that I could use for a combined time of 20mins max (R1200 per hour use) making Ryobi the most expensive product on the market to use. My Ryobi line trimmer worked for a total of 3 cuts. Thank God I got my money back on the Ryobi line trimmer from Makro, it also packed up in lockdown level 5. I will honestly advise any person not to buy any Ryobi product from builders its a sub standard product and the reseller simply does not care. I will never invest in any Ryobi product again. It was always a cheap product but you got some value for money. Not the case at all anymore.
