Dealership Review

Very bad experience with this dealership. Sold a vehicle to me in a good condition. When collected the vehicle on the drive home, the vehicle's problems started showing up. Some problems was so bad, that I questioned the vehicle's roadworthy. Got it tested and the vehicle was not roadworthy! Speaking to the dealership, they said I bought the vehicle ''voetstoots'' and it was never sold in a good condition. The vehicle was financed, so could not have been voetstoots. Got the foto's from the sales floor stating vehicle is in a good condition as proof. After the deal was cancelled, they put this vehicle back on the sales floor, still in a ''good'' condition, but the car is not even roadworthy! Vehicle was also sold with a Motorite Warranty, when I spoke to them about the issues found, they said they would not pay for repairs because of the condition of the vehicle. So think twice befory buying from them and the warranty they sell is not worth the paper it's printed on! Upon review on Google, it was stated that the vehicle was sent away to be repaired before being put back on the sales floor.....another lie! Any person with any sense of logic would be able to understand that the vehicles seatbelts was replaced, tyres replaced, CV joint repaired, cracked front diff casing replaced, steering wheel functionality repaired, car roadworthied again.....all this done between 12 and 5 on a Friday afternoon? We both know this was not done! With regards to the Motorite Warranty, maybe you had 30 years of good experience with them, but the fact of the matter is, in this case, with the state of the vehicle as it was sold to me, Motorite would not assist in this case, reason that these faults was at hand before the sale was done. So your customers leave with piece of mind that they have a warranty, but if the dealership did not do a proper inspection of this vehicle, your warranty is useless as a customer! So your customer spent the money, but the warranty is useless! Further more there is an pending investigation on the roadworthy that this vehicle was sold with, it was tested by two roadworthy stations and failed at both! Yes you use an independent company, but customers are let to believe they are driving away in a safe vehicle, that is why these check's are put in place! Lastly, as per your response on Google, yes you where eager that I bring the vehicle back for repairs, but what most customers don't know, once you bring the vehicle back, the finance deal can't be reversed and you sit with a forward and backwards with a dealership trying to fix a car, this can take month's and you sit without a car, really this is not the idea when purchasing a vehicle! If you where trying to be so helpfull, not once was it offered to collect the vehicle? I asked your sales person repeatedly what the plan of action was to repair the vehicle, everytime the response was we will see what you can do. Then suddenly the ''voetstoots'' name started coming up, becuase I was asking questions that was becoming an issue for the dealership. None of this is a commitment to repair the faults that was clearly indicated on the Dekra report that I paid out of my pocket after seeing signs of an unroadworthy vehicle!

Dear Mr Stemmet, as per your similar review on google Review: herewith a copy and paste of the same response that I rep**** with as the facts remain the same from my side.

Mr Stemmet, in response to your review posted around midnight on Christmas day, (according to the time stamp) I would like to set the record straight, as I have been kept in the loop via the sales person and F & I from the day  that you first contacted them about the tyres. My response to them was to invite you to bring the car in in order for us to inspect the car and sort out any mechanical or safety issues that the car may have had. I repeatedly encouraged this each time you made contact with him as for the last 40 years there has never been an instance where we have turned away a client who had a reasonable after sale issue. Perhaps there has been a miscommunication during the course of this transaction regarding the "as is" statements that were made. This vehicle was traded in at our dealership and albeit it is of an older year model and has covered a high mileage, we were still confident enough to sell it via finance as it was and still is in a good condition. The "as is" statement would only apply to cosmetics and not to mechanical issues. The vehicle was sent to our regular testing station and it came back with a r/w certificate which we accepted in good faith. After several attempts to get the car back to inspect and address the issues, we without question, cancelled the sale and reinstated you to the position that you were in, prior to the purchase.  Yes, we have re advertised the car in "good condition" as it was sent away on the day that we collected it from you, to have the few items repaired or replaced. As far as the Motorite warranty goes, they do not cover "wear and tear" items as per your list of complaints, but cover breakdown on all mechanical items of the car, as explained to you by our F & I on delivery. We have supported Motorite for more than 30 years and I rate them as the top warranty company in the country. I sincerely hope that my explanation brings more clarity to this situation. If not, you are more than welcome to pop in to chat to me face to face.  Steven Johnson
