Steve Madden disappointed me so bad

Returned unworn shoes to Steve Madden due to wrong size, but they claimed they were worn and dirty. They sent pictures as 'proof', but I'm baffled as to how they got dirty since I only tried them on indoors. Refused to refund and they want to sent them back to me. Disappointing customer service experience. I am very hurt especially because there's no one who wear that size in my home....now it's like I played with money
