Poor Service by Steve Madden - Edgars- Gateway Shopping Mall

On the 29th November 2019, I bought Steve Madden shoes at Edgars Gateway that I wanted to wear in a wedding. I could only wear them from the house to the car. The shoes were so uncomfortable and sore so much that I had to go back and wear an old pair of shoes. Today, I went to exchange them only to be told I cannot exchange them because they have been worn. Yes I wore them and my yard is tarred so they are more likely to show that they were worn. I was further told that these shoes are not made for comfort. The lady by the name of Portia was not even willing to listen. Not to mention the level of stinking attitude that this was conveyed in. Can you please help to resolve this issue. I am not looking for a refund but exchange. There is no way that I can pay so much for a pair of shoes that make me walk like a penguin. It is not like I am begging for a free government service here. All I am asking for is value for money.

On their response they are saying they do not exchange goods on sale which was not initially communicated by Portia. All I was told is that your shoes are not made for comfort. If Portia told me that even yesterday, I would have understood and approached this matter differently. I left the shoes at the shop because the response I got really made no sense to me. And I have checked on my slip there is nowhere where it says items on sale cannot be returned. Not even a signage at the shop says that.

Again, I cannot pay R500 for such uncomfortable item and be told I cannot return them and that was not even declared during purchase. I have been buying Steve Madden shoes for years now and never had such a terrible experience.

Please assist to resolve this matter as soon as possible.
