Going the extra mile

I remember when I worked in retail, we would do absolutely anything and everything to make sure the customer was happy and satisfied. At Steve Madden, Mall of the South that is not the case. I was looking for a particular black size 6.5 and they seemed to be available only in Durban and Cape Town. Only to be told/asked if I didn't know anyone in those areas to get the shoe for me. Whatever happened to going the extra mile, taking the customers details, phoning the store that has the size and asking them to courier it to JHB...?Maybe it is just me or have things changed in the retail space?!
