The evil nurses and doctors of the Steve Biko academic hospital (The poor continue to suffer and die at the hands of those who must help them) of the

My mother in law went to steve biko academic hospital with severe back pains and she was also complaining that she can't walk and can't feel her legs. The hospital admitted her on the same date, during her stay in the hospital she was operated on her spinal cord and they told us that she will regain her mobility. After the operation she looked well and recovering but things started to go backwards, she was kept in an isolated ward alone with no TV or, Radio for two months she was in captivity(Jail) with no one to talk to, we inquired with nurses many times to ask when is she going to be integrated with other patient as she was losing her mind and forgetting things because of been alone for two months in an isolated ward, they said she contracted CRE infections so she can't be with other patients. During her stay in isolation her condition continued to deteriorate she started to have bed sores from legs and back nurses were not helping her because some were afraid to even go into her ward because of the CRE infection which contracted at the hospital. She is also unable to help herself to do number one and two so, every time we visited the her she will cry and tell us that the nurses are not helpful they will sometime not change her nappy or empty her urine bag so she will have to beg them for help or sometime she will take the whole day without seeing anybody or weeks without seeing a doctor in her ward. The hospital neglected her so she is now worse with serious big wounds from bed sores. The doctors at the hospital are also not honest they discharged her from the hospital in a worse condition compared to the time we brought her. She is now at home with big wound she got from hospital with no resources to manage the wounds her condition is worsening, we went to see a medical practitioner who referred to the hospital to get advises we showed the doctor pictures if her wounds the doctor was shocked to see her wounds, her wounds are big and cannot be treated at home her entire bums are decaying and smelling and her legs are getting swollen and still she can't walk or do anything. The medical practitioner told us that her wounds will need serious medical attention e.g skin grafting. The doctors at the hospital told the family that they will arrange home base care for her but none of that materialized, they also **** that her wounds are not big , they said the family can manage, one of the reason they cited when they discharged her was that they are worried that she will contract other decease at the hospital and that been alone in the ward also contributed in her not recovering well.

We have photos and witness to give further evidence so hellopeter can you please help us, the truth is both my mother in law and the husband are not working so they can't afford a lawyer.

The family is also consulting with medical malpractice attorneys to get legal assistance as we think there is a clear case of negligence and cover up.

The Steve Biko academic hospital must take responsibility and treat people with dignity and respect they deserve.
