Spar Stellenbosch.

On Sunday the 9th of December as we were travelling to Stellenbosch for a family gathering and on our way we stopped at Superspar Helshoogte to buy an few items. Amongst those were two cakes which were on a table near the bakery. We arrived at the destination in Stellenbosch for the family gathering and cut the cakes and ate. I noticed green mould on the slice and notified my friend and then everyone confirmed that the cake had mould on it.

We took what was remaining of the cake and stopped at the same Spar at which we purchased the cakes to report our findings. We met on the floor a lady by the name of Yolanda and she informed us that the manager was not present and we would have to return the following day. We informed her that we were not from the area and it would be difficult to return the following day however she said she will not be able to assist us and was more concerned on where is the rest of the cake not taking into account that customers eating food with mould could be a potential health threat. We insisted that we would like to see someone whom would attend to us and they called Mr Johan. He came to assess and again was interested in the rest of the slices meanwhile we had said that we were at a gathering and some of the family members had eaten the slides without noticing with the eye but tasting that it was not right. He said that he can't help us in anyway because the manager will not be happy with him if he assists without his permission.

This is totally unacceptable and I feel our interests and well being as customers were not taken into consideration by the people who attended to us and the store itself for leaving food items which are not quality checked. I do see why I should be the one running around to get correctly serviced.
