Stelkor Doctors, Stellenbosh - terrible customer service, don't waste your time!
My wife and I are travelling overseas and need 2 injections each. I phoned Stelkor Doctors, Stellenbosch on 2nd September to get an idea of pricing and availability. The person I talked to could offer no guidance whatsoever and insisted I email them, which I did. I was very clear in the email about what we needed - Hepatitis A and Typhoid - and asked for an indication of cost. This was the reply I received 5 DAYS LATER on 7th September: "I trust you find this email well I spoke to one of the Travel Doctor and he say that the patient must came in" Apart from the appalling English, this email was zero help and terrible customer service. We live over an hour's drive from Stellenbosch. I contacted a different practice today, got the prices over the phone, and made an appointment for my wife and me for 2 days' time. Stelkor Doctors, Stellenbosch just lost about R4k of business. The final insult that topped it all off, was the sheer arrogance of the footnote in their email. In case you have nothing better to do, I'll paste the most galling part of it here for you to read: This practice/doctor is not under any obligation to reply to e-mails sent to us. E-mails are regarded as less urgent and a reply can be expected within 5 working days. Please make an appointment to consult a doctor for urgent matters: ***. Should a doctor consult telephonically or via e-mail with you, send a repeat script, complete a chronic application, or send a report - you will be invoiced according to the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) codes applicable. Conclusion: a highly inefficient money grab; don't entertain them.
