"replaced part and work" unknowingly requoted on - Was It Even Done Originally????
<p>My husband took my Ford Ranger toSTEERING & CV SOLUTIONS, Newton Park, PE in December as the steering did not feel right and there was a lot of "play" in the steering wheel. This company then went ahead and replaced the L/F Upper Control Arm, R/F Upper Control Arm; Idler Arm and charged us R5400.00 for this work to be done. On receiving the vehicle back, he noticed the steering still felt the same and took it back to STEERING & CV SOLUTIONS, Newton Park, PE who had alegedly "done the work & replaced these parts" ; only to be told that the work was done and the parts were replaced and sent away. </p> <p> </p> <p>Skip a few months to June, the vehicle was taken in to our mechanic for a service & check on the steering again as it has never been right - and the mechanic proceeded to take the vehicle to the same company STEERING & CV SOLUTIONS, Newton Park, PE who checked everything and gave him a new quote for the same parts to be replaced! </p> <p> </p> <p>So we have the invoice for the original work to be done and the quote for the same work to be done, both by the same company. </p> <p> </p> <p>On phoning them to query this, I was told that the original work would have definately been done. Their frontline lady was very arrogant in the way the call was handled and insisted that the work was done - instead of expressing any regret for the situation and requesting that we come in so they can have a look or investigate, she was not at all sympathetic which caused me not to trust these people at all with the vehicle even after she eventually said just bring it in so they can see if the "parts are faulty that were replaced" </p> <p> </p> <p>I have since requested a full refund of the invoice so that we can take the vehicle elsewhere to have the work done , and was told they will not do this. SO it seems we have paid R5000 for work to be done which I have to have done elsewhere now as the same parts need to be replaced and the same work done 6 months later! We did in the interim get a full report of the steering rack to advise that these parts do not appear to have been replaced at all. </p>
