Poor workmanship and poorer work ethics

CASE: NORTON GRANGE BODY CORPORATE AND STEEL BOYS

1. The company, Steel Boys, provided quotation for the repair of the leaking box gutter on 2 November 2021. (Quotation attached). With a 1-year guarantee. 2. The leaking box gutter was attended to on 2 November 2021. 3. With the next rainfall the box gutter was showed leaks the whole length of the gutter. 4. 7 November 2021: The company was informed there is no improvement after the repair work. Amanda from the company undertook to have a site visit on 8 November 2021. The company was requested to visit the site while it was raining. 5. 8 November 2021: Amanda from the company apparently phoned after a while to visit the site. There was nobody available AT Norton Grange. Steel Boys went to Boksburg. 6. 8 November 2021: Mrs Botha phoned to inform the company that she will wait for them. The company notified Mrs Botha that it is late and that they will be at the site on 9 November. 7. 10 November 2021: An arrangement was made for the company to visit on 10 November 2021. Amanda from the company informed Mrs Botha that the old sealant was not removed but they paint over the old leaking sealant. Amanda, the contractor informed Mrs Botha that they are still busy on another site and will now visit he site on 11 November 2021. 8. 11 November 2021: No show of the company. 9. 19 November 2021: The gutter was leaking, and Amanda from the Steel Boys was informed. She undertook to visit on Monday, 22 November 2021 at 8:30. 10. On Monday, 22 November it was raining. No work could be done. 11. On 23 November 2021 Amanda from Steel Boys informed Mrs Botha that they are on their way to Durban but will visit the site. 12. 24 November 2021: Another excuse. Steele Boys came and ********** the old sealant. Mrs Botha informed the company that the gutter is leaking a lot. 13. 25 November 2021: Notified Steel Boys that the gutter is leaking a lot. I am informed that they will come to re-seal the gutter when they are back form Durban. 14. 29 December 2021: Steel Boys undertook to visit the site on Friday. Mrs Botha informed them that she will be home after 12:30. 15. 3 December 2021: Amanda from Steel Boys informed me that they had traffic delays from Durban. 16. 9 December 2021: Mrs Botha from Norton Grange informed Steel Boys that there was no communication from them since the return from Durban. Steel Boys informed her that it was still raining, and they could not do sealing when it rains. 17. 9 December 2021: Mrs Botha requested a refund. Steel Boys informed her that they did not offer a refund. Amanda informed Mrs Botha that the company is currently busy with other work. 18. 12 December 2021: After Mrs Botha reminded them that there was no rain for 5 days and that they did not come to address the problem as promised, Steel Boys undertook to do the repairs before 23 December 2021. 19. 23 December 2021: Mrs Botha reminded Steel Boys that they still did not attend to the problem, the excuse was now that one of the workers is now having COVID. 20. After contacting the company return to repair on 17 January2022. The repairs did nothing to solve the original leak
