I would just like to express my dissatisfaction due to a lack of service that I received from STBB, who supposedly a well established law firm. I was approved for a bond in February 2015 and was very excited to start a new chapter with my family because I grew up with less than the basics. FNB assigned STBB to handle the transfer of the bond. From the start it was obvious that I was just another unimportant person because there were probably more important clients that were of higher priority because my bond was R280 000.00 - there were so many delays with everything and on top of I had to chase them up with emails and phone calls every second week to get an update on the status of my bond. Days, weeks and eventually 3 months went by and it was May 2015, which meant that I had to re-apply for the bond as part of the NCA compliance regulation, which I did and was approved again, I continued to call and email STBB and I got the same responses over and over, they waiting for the City of Cape Town; for this office and for that office... At one point, I received response from STBB that there is a delay from the seller's lawyers (who was also STBB). I then got a phone call in July 2015 stating that I need to pay R9529.00 for admin, postage and telephone cost and for registering the bond in my name (I made majority of the calls and received no post). I had to re-apply in August again and in November due to delays from STBB. In December 2015, I was assured that everything is almost completed and I app**** for a personal loan to buy a motorbike because my car broke. Another few delays popped up and when I re-app**** for the same bond in February 2016, I was declined. So now when I requested the R9529.00 back, I was told that they have a legal right to withhold 66% of the money I paid but they haven't done anything yet. If you have a choice, use anyone except STBB. It will be for your own benefit...
