Billed for services i was never informed off

I am busy selling my property. All paperwork went to the lawyers when they asked for clearance figures they picked up that the rezoning was not 100% complete. They said that a Mr Momberg in Braamfontein Civic centre want to speak to me in person. I went to his office almost every second day and could not get hold of him. Eventually after three weeks, I got hold of him and he told me that I have to pay approximately R77 000.00 for the engineering fees. But he will send it to the lawyers and then I can pay. Three months after that meeting I received the bill and paid it from my credit card. Two weeks ago I received a email from the lawyer with a bill of R10 000.00 for a private contractor they appointed to handle this query on my behalf. I asked them why was I not informed of this before they appointed the contractor. I also don't understand why I had to chase Mr Momberg myself if they say that was the private contractor job. The lawyers insist that they did inform me of the private contractor and I have to pay the bill before they can lodge at the deeds office to register the property.
