Incorrect billing on invoices. ******** agency!

I'm currently renting a 1 bedroom flat from this agency but let me tell you they are nothing but a ******* business. I signed a lease on the 31st of July 2018 and moved in on the 1st of August 2018. When I viewed the flat I obviously had questions for the agent, Felicia Grobler, i asked about the water&elec, other utilities too but she wasn't never honest about the breakdown of the costs. She said to me the family that stayed there before I moved had spend about R1500 or so on the utilities. I asked if it was per person or an overall Bill, she said that was for the unit. I explained to her my job and the hours I work and how often I'm away from home. I work at the gym my shifts are from 5am-8pm, I get home at about 9pm or so. I shower at the gym, I eat at the gym too. My unit have no appliances - so no TV, no stove, no wifi or any luxury or expensive appliances I need connected. They geyser has been off since I moved in. So the first utilities bill I received was R6291.15 (Rental R5300+ operational cost R991.15) I was beyond shocked. After just living there for 24days... well barely... ofcoz I questioned and to my argument they billable incorrectly. So the thing is, there's no actual meter on the property and no one comes and read the water meter and no one cares to explain the actual breakdown for the costs, unless you move in and only then question a hectic bill. It's month 2 - yes I'm giving notice- and yet I've been given an even higher bill this month. So with my thinking, they charge you per person and an overall estimate of all the units for water, electricity, sewerage and refuse use. Plus alot of other fees that's not explained prior to moving in. I am extremely ****ed off at their ******** ways and ripping of tenants. It's ridiculous what their charges are. I'll definitely make sure future tenants will know about this!!!

I'm honestly just so mad because the reason I moved into the flat was to save a bit not money and be closer to work. The rental amount is a complete lie!!! 6 units on the premises - 4 currently - other tenants have moved, they left before I could ask what the real reasons are. Im suspecting the general estimates they calculate includes the businesses downstairs. I asked the agent if I'd be paying alot of Money, because of my frequent travels and being away and she said no. How dumb of me to even have believed her. When I called the meter reading company - Reacomp, they said my initial bill was on R0. But ofcoz the Status Mark had to also blacklist me coz I didn't want to pay the R991 that was outstanding until I had someone explain the breakdown. I initially made the payment, only to be given the correct bill and the amount was R221. I asked for a refund only to be told the owner will be reminded. Took them a week to refund me but I wasnt gonna let them get away with my money. Now im waiting for bill number to be explained. I need an explanation and break down of this R2157 for utilities. Which is insane! For 2 people, that's never home. No appliances on. No geyser on. It's completely a *******. The people are moving out because these utility costs are a *******!

Update: I've received my utility (operational cost) invoice. I called Elmien, from Reacomp Meter Readers today and she doesn't remember ever dealing with me, why am I not surprised. I've asked her to explain my current bill of R2157.15 because there is suddenly a consumption for electricity for the common property and for my unit, asked her why and she says "well ask Kyla or the owner" I am livid because last month when I asked I was told there isn't an individual meter for my unit. This month I get charged for my unit and for the building. She also tells me the consumption of the water and electricity is calculated based on the number of people, so, so many different stories and she doesn't remember half of them. So it'll be only myself this coming month, October, and I'll have to see what the bill will be like. I was also told that there are actual meter readers who come out and read the water meter, im confused because I was told that the bill is just calculated based on the amount of tenants and calcukated from there. On monday, 0ctober 1st there will be anouther actual meter reader coming to read the meter. IF THERE'S ONE PERSON I CAN URGE NOT TO RENT FROM THIS AGENCY, PLEASE DON'T. SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR MONEY. DONT BE FOOLED BY THEIR RENTAL AMOUNT COZ YOU'LL END UP PAYING MORE.

When I called Kyla to ask to explain the breakdown for the utility bill she says even if there are no tenants in the unit there'll still be billing for usage... now how can you bill an empty unit? So before I moved in where were the bills send? I've spoken to 2 other tenants (They've moved out) the one said he's still waiting on his deposit and the other said the same. I'm hoping I'll get my deposit back when I move out on Oct 31st. I've taken pictures of almost everything in this unit and I'm sure their checklist agent will find something to say... I have my lawyer ready and I will definitely not back down because I've worked extremely hard for my money... will update with feedback regarding meter reader comin to read meter on Oct 1st 2018...

I'm having an extremely difficult time with Reny-A-Property regarding my OCT operational cost bill. I'm charged sewerage and refuse fee and still waiting on the breakdown of fees. It will prob take them another 2wks to come up with lies and all these hidden costs. Do not rent from this agency!!! ?
