Deposit Refund - A month later and no response

I AM STILL waiting to receive my deposit refund- they're telling me about "the owner' - when i paid the deposit they never mentioned this "owner". It's been a month now since I moved out at an apartment that I rented through Status Mark & Rent-A-Property They sent a statement deducting ridiculous amounts of monies and now they've gone mute! It's sneaky and inhumane the way they eat into peoples deposits and never explain upfront. I would not recommend that anyone rent from them!
