State Theatre Refreshments Service

My friend and I attended the S'khumbuzo Hlophe Comedy show on Friday 8 April 2016 at the State Theatre in Pretoria. The show itself was well put together and was thoroughly entertaining. I'm a frequent visitor of the Johannesburg and Market Theatres and expected the same standard if not examplary from the State Theatre. The State Theatre's bar service before the show is shocking!! There were about 4 ladies (bartender cashiers) behind the bar. All with a zero sense of urgency, zero competency, wearing red lipstick and appalling attitude to match. My friend and I bought drinks before the show and had to quickly gulp them down because there were no plastic cups/plastic glasses that we could carry the drinks with into the auditorium. We waited at the bar for almost 20 minutes for the plastic tumblers until we left, abondoning our already paid for and our half finished drinks in fear that we would miss the start of the show. The bar staff that we kept on asking for assistance could not have cared less. We had to sit through a 1,5 hours show thirsty, refreshments-less and annoyed at the situation. Utterly disappointed!!!!
