Warning: Avoid Starhub Energy – Poor Installation, No Support

We purchased an 8kW Deye inverter with three batteries from Starhub Energy, expecting a professional and reliable solar installation. However, just 1 year and 2 months after installation, we discovered serious faults that rendered the system unsafe and non-compliant.

An independent report from Sakkies Electrical revealed multiple critical installation errors, including:

- Burned MPPT terminal due to overcurrent.

- No conduit or trunking for open wiring.

- No fusing or surge protection on the PV strings.

- Overloaded inverter terminals, exceeding the maximum amperage.

- No earthing on the system.

- Non-compliant Certificate of

- Compliance (CoC) missing essential pages.

Because of these installation failures, our inverter's warranty is void, leaving us with expensive repairs. Starhub Energy refuses to take responsibility and instead wants to replace our Deye inverter with two Neovolt BW-INV-SPH5k + BW-BAT-10.1P, rather than honoring the original system we purchased.

For two months, we have tried to resolve this, but Starhub Energy ignores our calls and avoids us. Their lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable.

If you're considering a solar installation, we strongly advise against using Starhub Energy. Ensure your system is installed correctly by a reputable service provider.
