Starbucks service
On Sa****ay the 30 April 2016 I visited Starbucks in Rosebank. I waited outside in the queue for 1.5 hours and it was really cold that evening before finally getting inside Starbucks. My husband and daughter waited in the queue inside whilst I made myself comfortable on one of the couches. There were some cups and stuff left by the previous customers on the table where I sat and an employee came to clean the table it was about 20:15 at the time, he greeted me and asked me if I could see the star and the R that was displayed on the wall and I said yes innocently then he told me "if you have money you can buy yourself some nice coffee from there". I was quite surprised by what he said and did not reply but I was seriously thinking to myself why would a person wait 1.5 hours in the cold to just go and sit inside Starbucks do these employees undergo training on customer relations or do they only get training on how to make the product. It is essential that employees that work with customers undergo extensive customer relations training. Obviously customers that visit Starbucks have the money to make purchases otherwise why waste time waiting in long queues. I sent a complaint to Customer Service and was sent a standard apology e-mail with the offer of beverage coupons which I refused as I did not have a problem with the product I had a problem with the service and requested an apology from the employee who was responsible for my dissatisfaction. Thus far I have not received any apology from the store manager nor the employee who was responsible for the action. I am deeply disappointed by my experience at Starbucks and hope that customer service drastically improves as it is not only about the product but also the manner in which customers are treated.
