Declares false damage on windscreen. No damage exists.

Taking my car to a VW dealership for a 15000Km service. The second vehicle I have taken to Barons Woodmead. The second time I receive a call from these **********, claiming I have a chip in my windscreen which they wish to repair "so it doesn't spread". Both times, referring to superficial damage that cannot and will not spread. You cannot permanently repair superficial damage without damaging the windscreen further. Barons fully support them and say it's a "value added service". My argument to them is that they should clamp down on these guys just trying to make a quick buck. If Star Breaks is unable to do legitimate business, why let them continue to rip VW customers off? Don't get me wrong, a windscreen repair is a great way to stop actual stone chips from running and save your windscreen from cracking. I used to repair windscreens for a living, and well too. The world is full of people trying to make an honest living. Unfortunately, it is the companies with no morals or ethics, that are willing to make a buck now, even if they get caught out later, they have their money already. I do not know what their workmanship is like, I do however know that they are not an honest bunch. Knowing that Barons Woodmead is willing to let it happen by letting them continue trading on their premises, with their clients, makes me doubt their ethics and morals too. I hope this will make you think twice before simply accepting an additional service when you are not certain it exists or if it bad enough to need repair. Take your vehicle to a reputable company for a second opinion. Star Breaks - shame on you for doing immoral business and letting it happen for at least a year that I know of.
