STAR MOTOR GROUP VANDERBIJLPARK IS ****!!!

I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Star Motor Group Vanderbijlpark and the manner in which my vehicle has been handled. Around 9 June 2026, I was contacted and informed that a part had arrived for a previously reported intermittent airbag warning light issue. It is important to note that by the time I brought my vehicle in, the airbag warning light had not appeared for several weeks and the vehicle was operating perfectly with no warning lights displayed. On 15 June 2026, I delivered my vehicle to the dealership in perfect working condition and with no warning indicators present. Later that day, I received a call advising that the technician required additional time and that my vehicle would only be ready on 16 June 2026. On 16 June, I received no communication whatsoever regarding the status of my vehicle. Thereafter, I was contacted by a consultant, Abigail, who informed me that there was a "slippering" issue with the replacement part that had been installed, resulting in approximately five warning lights appearing on the dashboard. Despite this, I was told that the technician considered the vehicle safe to drive. I found this completely unacceptable. I delivered a vehicle that was functioning perfectly and displaying no warning lights. I therefore made it very clear that I expected my vehicle to be returned in the same condition in which it was handed over, and that I would only collect it once the warning lights had been resolved. After receiving little to no proactive communication, I personally visited the dealership on 17 June at approximately 16:43 to enquire about the progress of my vehicle. I was again informed that the warning lights remained active, but that the vehicle was allegedly safe to drive. I explained my serious concerns regarding this advice. Driving a vehicle with multiple warning lights illuminated creates a significant safety concern. If a genuine fault were to occur, I could easily overlook an important warning because I had been told that the existing warnings were being caused by the faulty replacement part. This places the customer in an unreasonable and potentially dangerous position. The technician acknowledged my concerns and stated that he understood my reluctance to drive the vehicle in that condition. However, I was then told that they had been informed that I "needed my vehicle back urgently." This was completely untrue. At no point did I request the vehicle to be returned with unresolved faults. In fact, I specifically stated that I only wanted the vehicle returned once all warning lights had been eliminated and the vehicle restored to the condition it was in when I brought it to the dealership. I subsequently spoke with the technician's supervisor, who agreed that he would not recommend handing a vehicle back to a customer while warning lights remained active, as doing so could create safety risks. He too indicated that they had been informed I urgently required the vehicle back, which again was incorrect. I was then referred to the Head of Department, Shaun Govender. He advised that another part would need to be ordered to rectify the issue caused by the original replacement part. Given that my vehicle had effectively been rendered unusable due to a problem that arose while in the dealership's care, I requested a courtesy vehicle, as I needed to travel back to the East Rand and report for work on 22 June 2026. To my surprise, I was informed that the dealership does not provide courtesy vehicles to customers. This was particularly frustrating considering I had been transported around the dealership in a vehicle clearly marked "Courtesy Car." I requested that alternative arrangements be considered due to the inconvenience I was experiencing, but no immediate assistance was offered. Mr Govender then assured me that every effort would be made to complete the repairs by Sunday, 21 June 2026. However, on 20 June 2026, I was informed that the replacement part was only expected to arrive on Monday, 22 June 2026. This raises a serious concern regarding communication, as I was never informed of the expected delivery timeline when the part was allegedly ordered. Instead, this information was only communicated at the last minute, leaving me with no opportunity to make alternative arrangements. What has frustrated me most throughout this experience is the lack of transparency, the inconsistent information provided by different staff members, and being passed from person to person without clear accountability. I have also received conflicting information regarding the availability of a courtesy vehicle. Initially, I was told courtesy vehicles were simply not available to customers. Later, I was informed that approval from the Dealership Principal could potentially be sought. If that option existed, it should have been explored immediately when I first raised the issue of being left without transport. I entrusted my vehicle to Star Motor Group Vanderbijlpark to resolve a minor intermittent concern. Instead, my vehicle developed multiple warning lights while in their care, I have been left without transport, communication has been poor, and I have had to repeatedly follow up for information myself. As a customer, I expect honesty, accountability, proactive communication, and a commitment to resolving issues caused during the repair process. Unfortunately, my experience has fallen far short of those expectations.

Refusal of my deposit

I have been waiting for my deposit that they have been processing for three days. I paid them with no issues and when the deal had to be finalised they gave me stories. Now the sales agent has been arranging my deposit to be paid for three days now. I arranged a new deal with a different dealer and they want the deposit but they are refusing to process my payment nor send a POP. I called, asked for email addresses nothing instead the sales person is ignoring my calls.
