Horrible Service from Star Alarms Cape Town

Star Alarms Cape Town installed an alarm system in our house in 2016/17. It cost us a lot of money. The installation process was a start/stop process and it took s long time to get it fully installed. Once partially complete, the alarm system did not work as promised. After a few years of many calls and promises, Star Alarms charged us more money to complete the installation in 2020/21. The system only worked for a few months and then broke down because the expander unit broke down and the wiring was susceptible to rodents eating through the thin wires used. They switched off the whole system in 2022 and we did not hear back from them. On further enquiry, they wanted us to pay a substantial amount of money to get the system fixed. We reluctantly agreed to pay an amount for the fix in July 2022 but it was not until late August and after many calls that they sent a team. Halfway through the fix process, the team disappeared without notice, leaving hanging wires all over the house. Our numerous attempts to get them back to complete their work have been met wit empty promises and blatant lies. Attempts to speak to senior manager, a certain Craig have not been successful since he does not return our calls, presumably because we are not important customers. It is ridiculous that a security company can sell hot air and take over 5 years to install an alarm system, thereby endangering our security given the rampant crime in South Africa. I suspect the positive reviews on hello peter are **** given our experience. Should you want an alarm system to protect your family, do not make the mistake we made. Be warned.
