What right has a bank have to freeze your account!!!

So SCB Botswana asked for our FICA documents on Dec 19th. I immediately emailed back and said I am out of the country until mid – January – like most small businesses in Botswana we close over xmas! What a time to FICA clients!! On Thursday last week a client phoned to say our bank account is not accepting deposits! Question – why not phone and tell us docs are needed urgently Why not tell us they want to freeze the account? Why do they need to docs so urgently – we have banked at the same branch for more than 20 years! When asked who to speak to other than the idiot who did all this, all his managers were in meetings. The CEO on the web site no longer works there! The docs were sent in only to be told yesterday that they now have to be certified by the Registrar of Companies? My accountants have never had this request before. Our company has not had an operating bank account since last Thursday! What is our recourse? Facebook, Hello Peter, an advert in the Botswana press? This is a major insult and complete breach of trust.
