WARNING: Standard Bank Insurance might just be the most pathetic insurer in Africa!!!

I registered claim 22/155161 for a damaged built-in stove on 1 Jun'22. The appointed electrical company visited my property on 2 Jun and said they'll provide Standard Bank Insurance with a report. I called Standard Bank Insurance numerous times thereafter and after holding for usually more than an hour, the call either cuts or I give up. I eventually called the electrical company to ask whether they can assist in getting this claim moving, but they just said that they've handed in their damage-report and is waiting on Standard Bank Insurance to approve the claim. I eventually got through to Standard Bank Insurance about 2 weeks ago and the consultant informed me that the damage report is sitting with an assessor (for weeks already) and when I asked about turnaround times, he arrogantly just said that whenever they get to it, they get to it. Basically, the customer must just accept poor turnaround times and service. That is absolutely bull-f*cking-****! It's been weeks now and I haven't been contacted by Standard Bank Insurance in any manner to inform me of the progress of my claim. The assessor must pull their finger out of their f*cking @ss and do their f*cking job!!! This has been the most pathetic service that I've ever received from any insurer. My G*d, man. In 2004 I was in a serious car accident on a Tuesday night, where my vehicle was written off, but I had a hired car the Wednesday and the claim settled into my bank account by the Friday. A much more complicated to assess than a damaged stove of which a report was provided to an assessor to just f*cking READ and approve!!! Standard Bank Insurance does not even deserve 1-star. I want my stove replaced before the end of this f*cking month because my family can't cook food and my children is suffering because of you sh*t lazy *********** lot!!!

I just double-checked and I actually submitted my claim via the *** e-mail address at 9:10AM on 31 May after having unsuccessfully attempted to reach them telephonically for HOURS-ON-END on 29 & 30 May. I even provided them with the details of a service provider, that's apparently on their panel and whom already came out to assess the damage the previous week, so they could've provided a damage report then already. That service provider came out on 27 May, prior to me registering the claim and I informed Standard Bank Insurance about them to make their claims staff's lives easier, but "eish". They subsequently appointed a different service provider to also come out, but that's their prerogative of course. The point is that 31 May is the day that I registered my claim and not the date that Standard Bank Insurance decided to get back to me via SMS (which was 1 June).

I cannot believe this!!! Standard Bank gave me a call and promised to expedite the matter. They confirmed the claim was approved, but now THEIR service provider is messing me around. I had to take off two days from work as per arrangement with the service provider and on both days they gave excuses of not having purchased the replacement item. Here's the problems, though. 1) Standard Bank should not use sh*t providers on their panel. I gave them the contact details of the assistance service provider who made the first call-out via my other insurer to confirm the problem with my stove. Such service provider also confirmed being on Standard Bank's panel. They're jacked up, so why the f*ck did Standard Bank not appoint them to do the job??? 2) Nobody from Standard Bank has called to follow-up around the service provider's completion of the job or to find out whether I'm satisfied. If they did, then this message wouldn't have needed to be sent! 3) Calling the call-centre is a waste of time. You hold and hold for hours until your call is cut! Just experienced it where a consultant answered and immediately cut me. Appoint proper people who want to EARN their salaries by sweating for it!!! Not lazy f*ckers. This country has an unemployment problem, so there's more than enough highly intelligent talented people with WORK ETHIC to chose from Standard Bank. Employ those ones!!! 4) My complaint was escalated to a Terral Kisten, an apparent "Executive Complaints Specialist" who never answers his/her phone. Ever!!! Can we get this simple claim resolved Standard Bank??? Prove yourselves and appoint another service provider who actually appreciates being handed such easy work as insurance claims on a platter. As a middle-aged man, I've had my fair share of experiencing poor service, but G*D knows, this must be the most pathetic "don't give a f*ck" type of low-level service that I've ever encountered. For f*ck sakes man!!!
