Waiting for Flood Repairs Five Months after Floods

I made a claim shortly after the floods we experienced in April 2022 (tried to email to make a claim- no response- eventually phoned a few times and was able to register the claim) and 3 contractors were sent to quote on repairs (over a period of 2 months). The assessor was then supposed to come to assess as well, but apparently he could not get hold of me while we were overseas for 2 weeks (he did not leave a voicemail). I tried to follow up via email (primarily to explain that we had mushrooms growing out of the broken ceiling boards and I was worried about the black mold and the health of my baby and toddler), but received no response. I phoned a few more times, but each time was told that they have requested the assessor to come to assess. Eventually I asked for his number and tried to contact him myself. He never answered the phone, but did eventually respond to a whatsapp once. However, he has now stopped responding to me on whatsapp. It has been five months since the floods and I am still sitting with mold and broken ceiling boards (in addition to other damage), and the rainy season is about to start. Standard Bank Insurance policy is that it should be repaired within 10 days. I understand they were busy after the floods, but this seems neglectful.
