Very sad and painful experience with Standard Bank South Africa

I had the worst experience with Standard bank when i put in my claim for my Moms funeral policies, I submitted all required documents at a branch in Vanderbijlpark on the 28th of July when my mother passed away. Hannelie van Deventer was the consultant. She told me that the claim will be processed in 48hrs. A day later received a call from a housing assessor for my claim for a house in Bedford view. Firstly i do not have a House, 2 days later i received another call from a different assessor but still from housing claims, i got very irritated with the level of incompetency from them. The funeral was set for saturday the 1st of August. on the 30th i decided to go back to the branch and find out what was going on. With all the stress of arranging for my mothers funeral i had to take time out of my busy and emotional moments and went to Bedford centre branch, where i was assisted by Elroy who resubmitted the documents again and told me the funds should be released the following day. Nothing happened, A funeral policy should be the funds made available to assist in making arrangements for the funeral nothing else but me and my family found ourselves doing all we could to make it possible to bury our mother. The funeral home was waiting for payments and friday came and still there was nothing from standard bank, We were told that by 4pm we should pay the full amount in order to get our mothers remain's released to us for the burial. The pain and stress coupled by the loss of a parent was too much for me. We had to borrow money to get on with the plans of burying our mother. The money got paid out on Friday at 19:10 in the evening, then i asked myself what was it for as it was not paid out to us when we needed it. The anger and disappointment is un-measurable. Standard bank has put us through painful and shameful experience i don't wish for anyone to ever experience such. I have tried even calling their call centre 5 days 3 times a day and i will be on hold for over an hour without getting through to anyone to assist. Unfortunately i fell ill the day after the funeral and hospitalised for over a week underwent emergency surgeries leaving me with no time to contact standard bank the monday to lay my compliant. was released from hospital on the 10th and i still tried getting hold of them with no luck, i would hold the line for hours and never get directed to anyone to talk to, eventually there was a guy who was one of the consultants who ended up giving me the email addresses to email to. ***,***. After regaining my strength Monday the 17th i called in again to no success then emailed to both the the addresses to date i have not received any correspondence from Standard bank. I am very hurt by the way they treated me and my family. The level of service is shocking. I have had my policy with them since 2006 till date but i dont want anything to do with standard bank they have not kept their promises they sell us when they want our premiums. i have truly wasted my money over the years with a service provider who has no sympathy, lack of compassion and understanding of how we felt as a family.
