Very disappointed by the insurance of the bank I trusted dearly.
Last year in July I took a car insurance from Standard Bank Insurance for my Audi A5, 2.0 T Quattro 2011 model. I took it telephonically and the consultant told me that the call was being recorded, I hope our whole conversation and interactions with the consultant were recorded. I had a problem with some insurance terminology like market value etc and I told the consultant to tell me in simple language because I was mainly interested in the amount of cover and excess, to help me see if I have adequate or inadequate cover for my car or property. The consultant told me that my cover was R239 000, R3000 excess if I'm driving and R4000 excess if it is another driver, the premium was R1200 and in July this year it was increased to R1400. My cousin got involved in an accident with this car on the 29th of August 2019 and it was written off and Standard Bank gave me a settlement offer of R157 000 which is too little to replace my car. The consultant gave me wrong advice, and I therefore asked Standard Bank to buy me another car, but unfortunately I'm not getting a response from Standard Bank. It's just painful to be treated like this by the bank I trusted since my childhood. All my brothers are with Standard Bank, it's like a family bank. My other car is financed by Standard Bank, and my house is financed by Standard Bank. I have a Standard Bank cheque account, credit card, overdraft, internet banking, instant money etc. How can the bank I trusted so much de***** me like this??
