Unfair Refusal of Claim

I took an insurance policy for my mother in law in January 2025. They told me that the waiting period is 6 months. They deducted the 1st premium on the 15 Feb 2025. They had deducted 6 instalments when my mom in law passed on last week (28 July 2025). When I made a claim, they told me that the 6 months waiting period was not yet over, it will be over on the 15th of August 2025. To me this does not make sense as I have paid for a full 6 months. 15 August would have been my 7th instalment. I feel cheated by them in a time of need when I really needed the funds to help bury my mother-in-law with dignity.
