Unfair car claim rejection by standard bank
I cannot even start to explain the pain standard bank insurance has caused me, im insured with standard bank and I have never missed my premium. On the 26 of June 2017 had an accident with my car Kia Rio 1,4 tech 5 Door model 2016 which damaged the fan and radiator, i called standard bank insurance log a claim No: SHS ********** 4581 and claim was approved. Smash Panelbeater Middleburg was appointed by standard bank insurance to repair the car. After a month when I had to collect the car from the panelbeater i found out the car was not ready even thou i called them several times a week before collection date reminding them i needed the car back before courtsey car expires i was assured my car will be ready on the 26 July by smash panelbeater Middleburg but now was told to come back the following day I had to pay avis courtsey car from my own pocket, following day I went again to collect the car still car was not ready no explanation was given except the person who was dealing with the car was not there after explaining and being firm with them that's when they started rushing to finish the repairs on the car and i was given the car, After 3-4 days of driving the car without showing any problems or faulty warnings the car started overheating called the panelbeater to come collect the car as it was overheating and no longer starting and also called standard bank insurance informing them about my car situation, was advised to lay a complaint with them and I did that. Mr Mc fourie the assesor did his investigation on the car and found out the car left the smash panelbeater with faulty fuse and faulty fan radiator, furthermore car was taken to kia dealership middelburg for investigation to Mr Cristo he also found the same thing the car left the smash panelbeater faulty and also the panelbeater was supposed to take the car to kia dealership for post accident repairs approval as per kia requirements which the panelbeater failed to do so, also furthermore kia south africa Mr Marnus Van Wyke and Mr Piet Oosthuizen did their own investigation also found same thing car left the smash panelbeater with faulty fuse causing the fan relay radiator not to work which resulted in the blown head gasket causing mix of oil and water in the engine, after 3 months of investigation the standard bank insurance rejected the claim No: SHS ********** 4581 saying the engine damage caused by the faulty fan radiator is not accident related how is that possible?? The faulty fuse was caused by the accident if the panelbeater did test the car as claimed how come they didn't see it had faulty radiator fan when it left the panelbeater, and also the reports from all the investigation conducted point out the car left the smash panelbeater with the faulty fuse and faulty radiator which resulted in head gasket being blown. Standard bank insurance has failed me, my car is left damaged and what hurt the most my car is still new and im still paying the bank for it and also still paying standardbank insurance, my life has been turn upside-down by standard bank insurance. I'm left carless have no any form of transportation, have to depend on hitch hike which put my life in danger. All because of standardbank insurance i'm hurt and disappointed and hope for someone to help me resolve this issue amicable...
