Hi Everyone

I hereby would urge anyone who wishes to take the standard bank life insurance to stay away from stand bank and try using other companies

I have had standard bank life insurance for about 4 years now and on October 2018 I was retrenched due to operational requirements and when I submitted my claim to standard bank they send me a form to fill in and provide supporting documents and they explained their months waiting period for the retrenchment cover

I submitted everything they requested from me by November 2018 and they confirmed that I will be due for payment 1st February 2019.

On December they called stating that there is a form they trying to get from the employer to fill and sign and they are struggling to get it done which I said send it to me I will follow-up with the employer, the employer certainly did complete the form and sent it to me and I forwarded it to standard bank on December 2018

Come a week before I’m due for my payment they call me and start coming up with stories that why I refused the offer the employer gave me and I stated the reasons why I refused.

Come the day I’m supposed to be paid the standard bank lady calls me and starts more delaying tactics and asked me questions like how many kids you have etc. which I explained and she never got back to me from there and I’m still sitting without my payment and no feedback from them whatsoever.

My question is why they didn't ask these questions November 2018 when I was submitting everything to them, why they wait until the payment date.

This is a sure indication that Standard bank life insurance is a **** and I urge everyone to stay away from Standard bank life insurance.
