Unaccountable standard bank insurance

I bought a house for R1,6mil less than a year ago,,it is insured with standard bank,in the few months that I have the house I invested another R500k in the property,with extension, swimming pool etc..a week ago we had heavy rains( storm like),,,my roof started leaking all over,,,I logged a claim with standard bank and the outcomes is that the claim is declined dew to lack of maintenance,,,,,I am very unhappy with standard bank ,why would I neglect to do maintenance on a property in which I invested a lot of money already and also when I don't stay in the property for even a year,,,,I think I must move my business else where because this is madness
