Stay away from Standard Bank insurance
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and frustration with the service received from Standard Bank Insurance regarding a recent claim for a significant water leak at my property. The service has been nothing short of appalling, demonstrating a complete lack of urgency, communication, and basic customer care.
On Friday, 24th July 2025, we contacted Standard Bank Insurance to report a severe water leak emanating from our property, which appears to be an underground issue. Given the nature of a water leak, prompt action is critical to prevent further damage and escalating costs.
We were assigned to Sherri Lee Fisher as our point of contact for this claim. Regrettably, since that initial contact, the service has deteriorated to an unacceptable level.
To date, Tuesday, 29th July, not a single plumber or technician has been dispatched to assess or address the leak. This is despite our repeated attempts to get an update and assistance. We have made numerous callback requests to Sherri Lee Fisher, none of which have been responded to. It is utterly baffling how a service provider can be so unresponsive, especially when dealing with an active emergency like a water leak.
Furthermore, we have been informed that plumbers are "busy every day." This excuse is simply not credible. How can a reputable insurance company, which promises cover for such incidents, consistently fail to secure a plumber for an entire week? This suggests a severe deficiency in your network of service providers or, more alarmingly, a profound disinterest in assisting your policyholders in their time of need.
This has been the worst insurance service experience I have ever encountered. The lack of action, the complete breakdown in communication from your assigned representative, and the inability to provide a basic, essential service like dispatching a plumber for a critical water leak is frankly disgraceful.
I urge anyone considering Standard Bank Insurance to stay away. My experience has shown that when you truly need them, their service is non-existent, leaving policyholders vulnerable and frustrated.
I demand an immediate resolution to this matter, including the urgent dispatch of a qualified plumber and a thorough explanation for this shocking level of service failure.
