Stay away from standard bank insurance..

I will not recommend standard bank insurance to anyone..

3 weeks later, my claim for vehicle repair has not been finalized...

All they do is lie lie lie..

Upon sending my claim for accident damaged vehicle. I am told to liaise with assessor. Assessor calls me, and 5 minutes later, I receive a whatsapp from unknown number requesting pictures of vehicle damages. I found this very werid and unprofessional. After a week of chasing and following up, I received a telephone call from assessor, ( Straighthrough assessors ) Telling me not to worry about anything and we discussed accident and also the pictures. I was assured all will be resolved and repaired. A few days later, the lying assessor only approves half the damage to my vehicle. I questioned the assessors report and was told the assessors report is final. The bank requested me to get the police report. Only to be told, the police report cannot be used because the police was not at the scene.. SO, if I understand correctly, thee assessor, who probably only has a grade 4, studied whatsapp foto analysis etc will be taken into account and not the SAPS ??? REALLY!!! After a week of fighting with standard bank, via emails and phone calls.. another assessor called me, from a different company. He then also agreed with me that the damages need to be repaired and parts replaced. He said he would email his report to the big bosses at Standard bank. I had to chase the bank, phonecalls, emails etc.. The bank then called me and apologised, said all will be repaired and replaced.. The banker even asked me to write a good review on hellopeter to clear their name... I agreed to it..

Then, today, I follow up with Standard bank... I am now told, they will not be replacing my accident damaged bumper, because, there was some damage to the bumper, before I made the accident. If I want the bumper replaced, I need to pay half of the cost, which is R5500!!!! The banker then reckons, ( This is the same banker who asked me to write up a nice review on Hellopeter ) If i am not happy with that, then we will go into arbitration!!! What the heck!!?? REALLY??

I then told her, I am so over this insurance and fighting with them.. They can just do what ever they want.. Who knows, She may call me back and say I have won a new car.. At this point in time, I dont know what to expect.

The one day I am told, only half will be repaired and or replaced, the next day, I am told All will be replaced and fixed.. now, only half will be replaced..

People, stay away from standard bank insurance..
