Standard Insurance: Put them on the highway and move to MiWay

I can just echo other complaints about Standard Insurance!!! "Put Standard Insurance on the highway and move to MiWay"! So I had a break-in into my garage and "lost" my beloved Merida mountain bike with Garmin accessories (for ease of reference: Claim no: 623149, Claims Consultant: Tumelo Mashiane). Luckily I'm insured with Standard Insurance so I'm covered. First time I had something ****** and submitted a claim. Think again...…..If you can't submit a proof of purchase for something you claim (does this mean I'm dishonest because I'm claiming for something I can't proof I had) then Standard Insurance pays out for ENTRY LEVEL. Not entry level Merida mountain bike . Entry level BICYCLE. Like in Makro bicycle (please forgive me Makro - this is not about you). No problem with paying for the Garmin accessories though but no mountain bike. My question is: does everybody out there submit proof of purchase for all claims because that means everybody out there has thousands of receipts (Like the files my grandfather had in his study) for everything they had bought for the past 30 years. Am I missing something? Besides my MERIDA MOUNTAIN BIKE.....RIP Standard Insurance.
