Standard Banks Ignorance to New Claims and Hazards
Dear Sirs
Subsequent to my review dated 18th August 2020, I would like to commend Standard Bank Insurance for their immediate action in response to the complaint of the yard. The work was immediately rectified and we are now satisfied with the work done.
However, it is still utterly disappointing to note that despite being extremely disgruntled by Standard Banks complete lack of communication in respect of the claim regarding the popping of tiles, we have to date not received any feedback. Despite making Standard Bank well aware of the risks to the elderly at the home as well as children, there has been a complete disregard, despite the review, which I would have hoped would compel them to communicate, unfortunately it seems that ignorance in respect of new claims is a trend successfully pursued by Standard Bank Insurance. I find the fact that Standard Bank Insurance could so easily respond to the review and fix what was done wrong with such haste yet plead total ignorance in respect of the tiles despite informing them of its cause during the use of the jack hammer and even calling the contractors to show them the tiles popping whilst the tools were being used, completely astonishing. What’s more disappointing is the fact that they have been made aware of the hazard broken tiles are causing in the home. Kids are constantly kicking it and tripping and we have to cover the affected areas with rugs to protect the habitants of the home. I have ascertained from other homeowners who had the exact same issues in respect of tiles popping and they have advised that their homeowners insurance covered the damages and it was immediately repaired, without delay or excuses due to the dangers and hazards broken tiles around the house could cause, not forgetting the negative aesthetic effect it has on the interior of the home. In such moment, I sit with regret at my choice to have my property insured with Standard Bank Insurance. This is really disappointing and I sincerely hope that it is addressed as a matter of urgency.
Bearing in mind that this claim was lodged in the first week of July 2020.
