Standard bank very poor service
The worst insurance company to have a insurance policy with hey, my mother worked for them for over 35 years, she was literally forced into retirement and than after that she was called and asked to come back and assist them, she has had insurance with them since the time she started working there, she has a bakkie that has been insured with them for years and I means years it is for a isuzu kb280dt , anyways she put a claim in as 1 night in February some guys decided that they going to break into the yard and take the tyres and strip what ever they could (bear in mind we stay in a drug infested area), of the vehicle, my mother stays alone and woke up the next morning to find the vehicle like that, she went to the police station reported the crime, the police came out and closed the report until we might have a suspect, so standard bank was informed of the matter and that's when the headache started, they had an assessor come out he seen the house has cameras, he was advised and shown that it stopped working in November or December last year as the box gave in because of all the load shedding so we never replaced it, he than seemed to have a problem to get the report from the police station as the officer was not around, few weeks go by the claims people called and state that the person dealing with the claim is off and they cant do anything till they come back, than another week or 2 passes by and than they ask her to fill out some form for cell c, to which she has done and now after sending it before Easter they say that she must have it signed by the police station, standard bank has no way of treating a customer and former employee, their claim process is supposed to be done in 10 days or earlier yet its been 2 months and still getting no where, what's sad is that the ********s have more rights in this country than us as the citizen, they are the fastest to take your money so you have insurance in case something like this happens, but they are the slowest to sort out a matter, cause they will look for every excuse to not pay a claim, I come from an insurance back ground and know very well the delay tactics and excuses, this matter needs to be escalated and resolved as a matter or urgency as this is ridiculous.
1st my mothers offer from them ( their offer is taking off a 60% salvage, which is already over the 30% limit , it can be dropped to 20% depending on how long of a client you were and what your profile looks so don't be fooled by the tactics)
Market value = R 52 000.00
Less Salvage of 60% = R 31 200.00
offer after salvage = R 21 000.00
Not being ********** way
Market Value = R 52 000.00
Less Salvage of 30% = R 15 600.00
Offer to client = R 36 400.00
when a good standing client for years (as she has been never had a claim on this vehicle ever)
Market Value = R 52 000.00
Less Salvage of 20%= R 10 400..00
Offer to client = R 41 600.00
I hope this will help anyone that might be going through something like this and it can assist them when they are stuck in a situation where the ********s seem to benefit.
