Standard bank turn down 2 claims within a radius of 1km from different households
If I can give a -5 star I would! Standard bank turned down my claim for cracks due to the earthquake. They will pay for the windows but the cracks are blamed on poor building... I've been with them for 16 years and my first actual claim that's not a plumbing issue is blamed on poor building? They did not have a problem with a alleged poor build when they took money for 16 years. The best part! My neighbor 2 houses down also had their claim rejected for the earthquake due to the building being to old, also cracks caused by this earthquake by Standard bank as well. This is just a convenient excuse to do people in who has no building knowledge and rely on the fact that they can use some jargon to get out of their contracts. They also do not reply on any mails asking for explanations!
I'm not getting replies from your departments. I want a second opinion when it comes to my claim and I want to see the qualification of the assessors, if there is no degree, how do they qualify to say my property is poorly build. Oh and FYI although twe houses in my nabourhood got turned down for their earthquake damage the people right across the road from me got approved by you guys for the exact same claim. So how does that make sense to blame it on how my house is built? Also how does it make sense if you approve the windows for earthquake damage but not the cracks? If the windows broke, it should be due to everything shifting and if the windows shifter, how did the building not shift and crack due to the same circumstances, how do yo establish that the cracks was not caused by the earthquake but the neighbors was? I mean they are maybe 50 meters from my house...
