Standard Bank should stick to banking and leave Insurance to the specialists
<p>On the 8th of June 2016 I was involved in a car accident. The accident was quickly reported to Standard Bank Insurance. This was done within a few hours of the accident after obtaining a case number from the police(claim number 474841). Standard Bank has since been giving me a run around as my claim is not finalised thus far. Communication is a foreign concept to this company as all telephonic communications are initiated by myself.</p> <p> </p> <p>A week after the accident an assessor was sent to assess my car as it was towed by Metro Police and is parked at my premises. This so called assessor was from a certain panel beating company. This seemed very odd to me. The assessor reported that the car can still be repaired despite the severe damage it had suffered</p> <p> </p> <p>I contacted my insurance to voice out my dissatisfaction and I was received by a very aloof consultant who offred not much assistance. Eventually on the third week my insurance contacted me and informed me that the car has been found to be beyond repairs and a payment would be made into my bank account. I was told to foward once again the log book and other documents which I had previousit sent to them. </p> <p> </p> <p>This morning I received a phone call from an unnamed individual who informed me that they were sent by my insurance to collect the damaged vehicle. My response to that was up until the whole process has been finalised I will not release the vehicle. </p> <p> </p> <p>I am very disappointed with Standard Bank Insurance asvi have been with them for close to ten years and not even once have I claimed. The most frustrating part is The fact that my car is fully paid up and the amount that they say is the current value of my vehicle does not even come close to what I believe is the value of my vehicle. </p> <p> </p> <p>I would not recommend this company to anyone. The poor service from the insurance company is motivation enough for me to shop around for another insurance company.</p>
