Standard bank insurence
My name is Regan, i have been a long time cleint of standard bank, so 5years ago i bought a house and standard bank financed me. All was well until during lockdown i noticed a crack spliting through 2 tiles on my kitchen floor. I thought one of the kids must have dropped someting on the floor. Months later i notices the same crack splitting through more tiles in same direction. I notified standard bank. It took them months to reply. I gave up, frustrated. In 2022 the crack is no longer a crack but my kitchen floor foundation splitting. This split coles from where the previous owners have made extentions to the house. I hasselled standard bank insurence untill they eventually ddcided to send out an assessor. The 2 gentleman told me this is a big job. The hole kitchen floor and build in cuboards will have to be removed. They will give quote to standard bank insurence. I constantly have to email them for an update, they sent me a Agreement cost for replacing broken tiles, R5900. I was nit happy as i try to explain to them the foundation is shifting. They gave me attitude saying thats what they will pay regardless. I refused it, so they semt out 2 more assessors who told me the same thing, its the foundation of the extended section thats was shifting. After months of back and forwards, standard bank told me the claim is not valid becos thats how i bouth the house. Who in thier right mind will buy a house like thar, i send more emails asking for thier inspectors report stating the conditionnof the house and how they know that this was pre-exsisting damage. They started to ignore me, until i got a phone call asking me to stop bothering them as rhe matter has been resolved. The cracknin the floor is so big now my fiance tripped over it. What do i do?
