Standard Bank Insurance total incompetence

Standard Bank 'insurance' is not an insurance but people that have no understanding of: 1. customer service 2. qualified installers 3. being an insurance

Our gas geyser blew after a lightning strike last year in September. The installers sent had not the slightest clue how to do the installation. The installer, being a plumber thus installed a gas geyser while by law it has to be done by an accredited installer and the installation must be certified (it is GAS!!!). They were here for 4 hours to put four *****s in the wall, did not have the correct stone drill (thus wholes too big, plugs too small) and cherry on the cake left 4 times to Builders Warehouse to go buy parts and supply. The installation was shockingly bad done, in fact dangerous installation and had to be redone to avoid gas piper to snap (at own cost!!). As they were in a rush (4 hours installation while all fitting were there from the previous geyser) they left without even installing a chimney on the geyser. I had to go buy a fitting chimney and chimney cap. A chimney is a must as when it rains, water will pour into the installation BUT most of all they had no idea that the burned gasses coming out are CO2 and dangerous! But what really really topped it all was the question: 'where is the power plug to plug the geyser in'....it works on 2 x 1.5V batteries to ignite the gas!!! We lodged a complaint, months and months, many phone calls and emails passed (and many automated answers 'due to covid blablabla') by without a single answer and of course the question on 'when the installation says kaboom' due to bad installation, will Standard Bank insure the house that could be leveled by a gas explosion. All they wanted to do is sending back the same company, the very same people that are doing ******* installations and have not the slightest clue how a gas geyser and its electronics work! So we phoned again last week, a number of times, the last call being 'she will phone you immediately back'...don't know in what time zone the call center lives but the 'immediate' call never came and never shall. The call center is bluntly lying to customers and has honestly no clue what, who or when to do! More and more people are switching to gas and solar due to the Eskom debacle and they don't even have qualified installers!!! Once this is sorted out including the Ombudsman, am done with their swindling and have no other option than to move insurance.
