Standard Bank Insurance is *****.

I am extremely disappointed with the way Standard Bank Insurance Brokers has handled my third-party claim.

Your insured driver rear-ended my vehicle and fled the scene. I had to follow her to her residence in order to obtain her details. She later explained that she believed she was fleeing a smash-and-grab situation and panicked. Importantly, she acknowledged that she was at fault and confirmed that her insurer would compensate me. She has been cooperative throughout — providing the claim number, police statement, and all required information.

At your request, I submitted:

A letter from my insurer confirming I will not be claiming through them

All supporting documentation requested

Despite this, your response has shown no accountability and no willingness to resolve a straightforward third-party claim fairly and efficiently.

This experience reflects poorly on your commitment to fairness and responsible claims handling. I expected professionalism and good faith engagement — not deflection and disregard.

I hope this matter can still be resolved properly and without further escalation.

Hello
It was a third party claim and there is the claim number and the is the last email i got from Standard bank Insurance

“Without Prejudice”
Good day Mr Adekoya

Trusting that you are well.
We confirm having received your demand and have now had an opportunity to view all the available facts, evidence and information at our disposal with regards to the relevant accident.

We confirm based on the facts at hand our driver was not negligent in this collision. Our driver was faced with a sudden emergency where she was faced with an attempted hijacking and as a result thereof had no control of the vehicle. The doctrine of which is formulated is as follows:

A driver confronted with a sudden emergency is one who has neither the time nor the opportunity to weigh the pros and cons of the situation in which he finds himself.

“A man who, by another’s want or care, finds himself in a position of imminent danger,
cannot be held guilty of negligence merely because in that emergency he does not act in
the best way to avoid the danger”.

Our client therefore was faced with a sudden emergency on the basis that:

• The emergency was sudden and unexpected
• Not of their own making

We regret to advise that we hereby in view of the above, have no other option but to refute your claim. We confirm that no offer will be forthcoming from our office and the matter is hereby
regarded as finalized.

Any actions will be defended.

Trusting that the above is in order.
