Standard Bank Insurance expects YOU, the client, to provide our own service

Standard Bank Insurance wants me to provide the service I paid them to do. They allow others to rip you off and fully supports it.

Here are the events that brought me here: 24/11 During the heat wave my geezer decided to bust a pipe. Late the Friday night I noticed my geezer outlet spitting out water. I closed then all water valves to minimize the water damage. Not my 1st rodeo. Sadly, there was and STILL IS, water damage. 25/11 Saturday morning I contacted Standard Bank Insurance. The 1st thing that was weird is that the operator just assumed that my geezer needs to be replaced and informed me she is sending people my way and how much I will have to pay for this privilege. Credit where Credit is due, these people were sent in a very short time. SMSs was being send though this entire interaction. Now... They had a quick look (VERY QUICK) and say I need a new geezer, but they will not continue if I don't pay them R1250 immediately. Well, this was told to me by the operator, so I did it. I also made sure to show them that all the water damage and where the is no damage. They took pictures of all the damages. They took some time to replace the geezer, creating and extra hole and attempting to hide it. Some of them also went into places they had no business doing so, like my garage and outside storeroom. When they completed, they said that an electrician is needed since there is no power to the geezer. They attempted to open my distribution box with a flat head *****driver but couldn't because they said its sealed. I informed them that the old one did have power and the time the new one was on, there was warm water. They ignored it and said THEY will report this and have an electrician send. So, they attempted to fix something they weren't qualified to do. They took photos of all damages again, even that they made after I insisted. They showed me the part that was broken, and I asked why not just replace this part, but shortly after they dropped the old geezer of the roof to ensure that the old one was broken. This was the last I heard of them. 28/11 I contacted Standard bank again asking for an update. Only then was the Assessor send to take photos. So, NOTHING would have happened if I didn't contact Standard Bank. I also Did inform them about the electrician thing and that operator said he will request one. So, one wasn’t requested after the plumbers said they will. Assessor came and took photos the same day. 30/11 I contacted Standard bank again. I requested an update on when the electrician will arrive. The operator said that he will get one for me. So in other words one wasn’t requested and if I didn’t call nothing would have happened. No SMS was received. 01/12 I contacted Standard bank again. I requested an update on when the electrician will arrive. The operator said she will request one. Once again one wasn’t requested and nothing would have happened if I didn’t call. So I informed the operator that this is wat the operator said yesterday, so is she telling me that person also didn’t do it? She said that she will put me on hold and request one now. She made me hold for a full 20min and then somebody else answered. This person requested to know what province I’m calling from and what I want. I said that I was put on hold by Standard Bank for some time now and she answered. Apparently, she is the electrician company that was assigned to me. She promised me that she will have somebody by me on Saturday 02/12. Now a few things are wrong here. Why did I have to talk to them? Why again after hours? So, I asked her this and asked if I will have to pay more since it after hours and that this is why I thought feet were being dragged on this. She assured me that they ONLY RECEIVED THE CLAIM NOW and that I will not have to pay extra. We will have to see. Another thing that was weird is that they are sending the electrician from Johannesburg. Why not form my town? Why not from my province? By the way. Still no SMS received.

You may have noticed that not once was the people who needs to repair the roof were mentioned. So, I take it this is the next step of this fight. I was assured that people will come and repair the water damage and the damage the plumbers did, but no communication on that at ALL.

Standard Bank enables others to ***** their clients. They endorse it. They enable it. They allow it. They ensure it.

So funny how quick they can take your money but when they need to provide the service you paid for, they lay back and doesn’t care at all and expects YOU, yes YOU who paid for this service to provide your own service.

This is NOT what I paid for. And now I'm getting ****med out of more money. I have to pay R500 more to get the roof fixed, that is IF they even show up. This is after the R1250. I will have to wait and see how much the electrician will DEMAND from me.

I'm very disappointed Standard Bank. I was a dedicated client of your for even before I was old enough to work, and this is how you repay me. I would have said do better, but it's clear you don't care.

I just wat to say thank you for the people you send over the weekend. They were very professional and communicated the entire time. I do feel bad that they had to drive all the way from Joburg and had to wait for an Hour to make sure that the geezer is working as it should, but I'm super grateful that they went the extra mile! And so far, all is still working. Thank you once again.
So what is the progress on the damage to the ceiling? Can we please get this sorted without fighting?
Thank you
