Standard Bank Insurance Claims Assessment
We experience a Tropical Cyclone on 17 January 2024 in Howick, KZN. On the same afternoon we reported property damage to fitted carpets and damage to our perimeter fence. Our claim was registered with claim number 24/006119. The carpet contractor appointed assessed damage on 19 January 2024. After numerous emails to the Insurer, and being informed that Themba Sehlangu, an internal assessor was appointed on 31 January only. Today is 06 February 2024, three weeks since the incident, and we have still NOT been contacted by the Assessor, nor asked for any quotations or photographs. As a practicing Assessor myself I am appalled at the lack of interest in my claim by Standard Bank Insurance. My property still have rotting, mouldy carpets which are a health hazard for the senior citizens residing in the section of the house. We have also had 4 incidents of vagrants gaining access to our property through the damaged fence. We urge Standard Bank Insurance to step up and honour their Service contract with us, or we will have no choice to lodge a formal complaint and consult the Insurance Ombudsman,
