Standard Bank Insurance and Mercedes Benz SA pointing fingers and ignoring client
Car was assessed for damage in March 2020 and Standard Bank Insurance authorised Mercedes John Williams Bloemfontein. The car came back but was parked throughout lockdown. In September I drove the car to Johannesburg and there was a noise in the engine. the car was immediately towed to Mercedes Benz Bryanston. Mercedes Benz Bryanston assessed and said the previous work was not done thoroughly and that it had led to damage to the engine and in their view the car would need to be written off. When Standard bank Insurance and Mercedes Benz were informed they asked for the car to be towed to Mercedes Benz John William Bloemfontein. When the car got to Bloemfontein it was assessed and John William issued a quotation for R125K Standard Bank Insurance refused to approve the quote and blames poor workmanship on Mercedes Benz John Williams.
It has been 6months that the car has been with Mercedes Benz and there is not conclusive decision. There is a lot of finger pointing but no decision. This is such a terrible experience that such companies cannot resolve an issues that was not handle properly. At a point their were even considering to take the car to another 3rd party repair shop for the car and I refused as they were both avoiding responsibility.
Mercedes Benz John William responsible person is Ronald Ransumy Standard Bank responsible people Paul and Sumen
