Standard Bank Insurance
Hi all
I would like to share my experience with the public as I believe this could help many others make decisions on Standard Bank Insurance going forward.
At 5am in the morning of 20 Oct 2021, I heard water gushing from another room in the house. I immediately called the insurance to assist with a claim for repairs.
At 10am a builder came through to assess the damage. He stated that its a water leak from a pipe that was installed with the geyser and not a building leak from the roof.
After contacting SB Insurance again, they have stated they will send out a contractor called . When the contractor came through they have stated that the joint from the installation of the geyser had burst and was not installed correctly by the contractor who installed the geyser as it should have been 1 pipe rather than cut and join the pipe and I therefore need to pay an access fee
Now, here is the kicker, that geyser was installed only about 3 months back by a contractor from Standard bank Insurance itself
Once I have mentioned this to the insurance and the contractor, everyone went quiet, I have sent multiple mails, made calls for 170 minutes (total calls) to the call centers and still no escalation, no feedback, no accountability of both standard bank and the contractor.
Standard bank insurance themselves says they cannot get a hold of the contractor.
While all of this goes on, my family and I continue to not have any hot water for yet another day.
I have also asked for the escalation procedure and the agent says they can only do this when they can get a hold of the contractor, so if the contractor never answers, we will never have hot water.
I have been with Standard bank for 14 years and now a Prestige client but none of that even matters and I am now going to move all my funds and portfolioes to another bank.
The service across the board of Standard Bank has been in decline and this above solidifies this
Hope there is someone from Standard bank who reads this and makes some changes to improve their service
In the mean time..............we will still have no hot water in our home due to bad workmanship of a contractor
Disappointed Client
