Standard bank household insurance is absolute hogwash

I almost wish they was a zero star rating. My 1st claim for some of my items that was damaged to to electrical surges could be lightning as we had lightning on the day as well. The guys came through spent abt 2hrs assessing the items did videos of it not operating etc. They didnot call me at all for a week until I called. The lady at the claims office said that pier surge is not covered and they only can compensate me R5000 of which 500 will come out for access. This is **************** guys. Please these agents that call they say amazing things about how they cover you against the unfortunate events that occur and we all normal people earning a hard earned living think we are covered. Only to find out that items are not covered due to clauses. I am so irratated and will never recommend or use these people. I will ask my parents and family I have to cancel them immediately. I should have came on here and read all the pathetic reviews before signing on.
