Standard Bank Homeloan Insurance (They don't pay and we're not surprised)
We purchased the property through Standard Bank Homeloans on 15th July 2023. It's less than a year at the property!
I'm deeply concerned and disappointed regarding the recent rejection of my insurance claim 24/043138. The reason provided for the rejection was that the damage was attributed to poor maintenance. However, I must insist that the damage was directly caused by an excessive storm that occurred on 21st and 22nd May 2024.
An unusually severe rain storm struck my area, which I feel caused significant damage to my property roof tiles. The severity of the storm was beyond what could be mitigated through standard maintenance practices.
In the aftermath of the storm, I promptly filed a claim with Standbank Homeloans insurance, including all necessary documentation and evidence supporting the storm's impact on my property through the assessor George Building Projects.
Have said all this we're not surprised by the outcome. Other insurers have a KPI to payout claims. Standard Bank has a KPI to reject claims
