Standard bank home insurance
I have my home loan with standard bank and decided to keep my home insurance with them, worse decision in my life, I requested to check if my solar system was covered, as it was water damaged, we had some rain and I assumed the water was from that, I did not claim for any roof damage as the leak didn't seem bad, long story short they sent someone to check my roof, as my panels are on the roof he couldn't see under and took pics on the other side of my roof, he did not go into my ceiling to check and made an assumption that it came through the roof, and admittedly I had made the same assumption, however after standard bank insurance looked for a loophole I had have a look and have it repaired, I had someone in the ceiling and was able to find the issue and fixed the problem, however this means I lost my battery back up, this person sent to assess the issue did not do his job accordingly, this isn't fair, I will move my insurance and will definitely not recommend anything to do with standard bank.

Thank you for your response If you took the time read my complaint you understand better why I don't agree with your assessor. Yes there was a storm, I also made the assumption it was the storm, it was actually the geyser, and a loose pipe that was caused by the borehole pump switch that jammed in the open position, as for the battery I switched it off, I'm not stupid leave it on knowing that there is a possibility of fire, if your assessors actually where knowledgeable enough to do they jobs, they would know that water in a lithium iron battery would cause fire. So I'm expected to leave the battery on knowing that it could ignite and put my family in danger?Not one of your assessors asked me why the battery was switched off.And FYI we've had rain a few times since then, and guess what no leaks into the house.
