Standard Bank home content insurance breaking house appliance (fridge)

I have a home content insurance policy with Standard Bank. On the 19th December 2023 I lodged a claim for the microwave that had stopped working and also a fridge that was leaking but it was still working. The insurance company sent an assessor the next day which is the 20th December 2023 and he got to the house at 15:55 that day. He started working on the microwave and later checked the fridge. Before he could start working on the fridge he asked me to remove the FROZEN stuff from the freezer because that’s where he said he was going to focus. Please note that the meat was as hard as a rock when we (me and him) removed it from the freezer. After finishing he then left. We then put some meat back and placed a plastic cup with water for some ice. To my surprise, the next morning the water was still hot and didn’t freeze. During the day I noticed that the meat was also melting. The following morning the fridge was leaking blood and not only water like it used to. I called an insurance notifying them that my fridge stopped working immediately after the assessor worked on it but they told me that unfortunately they declined the claim for the fridge. Completely dismissing the fact that they broke my fridge.

My issue here is that as much as my fridge was leaking water but it was working fine, only after the assessor touched it then it stopped working immediately and nobody wants to take accountability. The reason I lodged a claim for the fridge was that I was really hoping they could just fix the leak and I asked the guy if they can be able to fix it but then it completely broke.

The assessor saw the water coming underneath the fridge when he got here and the meat that was frozen inside the freezer.

Thank you.
