Standard Bank Credit Protection Policy
I have a Standard Bank Mastercard which was originally a BlueBean Mastercard. I have been paying for a monthly Credit Protection Policy for as long as I have had the credit card. The BlueBean credit card was terminated by Standard Bank and a normal Standard Bank Mastercard was issued. I now have breast cancer and when I went onto https://www.standardbank.co.za/southafrica/personal/products-and-services/insure-what-matters/your-debt/credit-card-protection-plan and called Standard Bank card division a number of times and spoke with various people providing them with my card & ID number and informed that I am covered for dreaded disease as I pay for a credit protection policy and was sent a claim form which I duly had completed by my GP (and paid a fee for). I submitted the claim on 22 February 2021 and on Monday 01 March 2021, I followed up on the progress of my claim. I call Standard Bank Insurance who say I have a Total Accident Policy MDR*** they refer me to Hollard for the Credit Protection Policy. The amount I pay does not tally with the amount stated on the statement which clearly stated Credit Protection Policy and not Accidental Death and Permanent Disability as stated on Standard Bank Insurance Services' website. I call Hollard who say that I have to obtain a copy of the policy from Standard Bank. I was given an email address and forwarded the claim and explained my circumstances and received an out of office message with a number of other email addresses to contact. I forwarded said email to one of these addresses and to date have not even received an acknowledgement of receipt of said email. Why is no one at Standard Bank or Hollard able to assist me?
